Fuck yeah. Unless I’m very much wrong (and I don’t think I am), I’m the proud owner of the first max-modded Destruction Abend Year (aka Vanguard Sword) in the english server of Imagine!!! =D

I just received this (slightly early) Christmas present from my best friend; he’s in the US right now and won’t be back for about another 7 months at least. And all I have to say is this: byktol, my man, I love you like a bro loves a bro. I really do.

So apparently, I’m someone who “threatens and [doesn’t do] a damn thing about it” because I didn’t post the chat logs of my limited conversations with this idiot (limited because I honestly felt my IQ would drop if I kept it up).
So for your enjoyment, I bring you the Chattra-gate files. =p

Massive Update: Aeria has, once more, rearranged their server/area distribution. I’m working on an update.
As everybody playing SMT Imagine that hasn’t been living under a garden pond knows, last tuesday (2010/12/07) a new server structure architecture was implemented along with the weekly updates and such. Said update is commonly known in the community as Channel Unification/Integration, or (my personal nickname for it) Channelocalypse.
In this update, instead of having multiple servers managing a copy of the entire world (the so-called “channels”), this time we have multiple servers managing a SINGLE copy of the world, with each server handling several maps/areas at a time (aka “zones”). Now, changing from an area managed by one server to one managed by a different server greets you with a loading screen to masquerade the fact that you’re being thrown around between different physical machines handling out the load of the whole game world.
As far as my little bit of probing and tinkering has figured out (heavens bless netstat -b and Process Explorer!), all the actual physical servers are behind either a proxy server or a firewall, which reroutes traffic sent/received by a specific series of ports to the physical machines in Aeria’s offices. The following table details the exact distribution of areas and zones across servers, at least as they are implemented at the current time.
Admittedly, I’m missing a couple of places (Kuchinawa Cave, the Home 3 Service Entrance instance, the introduction area lobby where Kuroe greets you, and a couple others), which I’ll be attempting to get as time goes on to further update this list.
2010/12/11 19:05 GMT-4 EDIT: I’ve mapped out nearly every area in the game now. Just missing a couple of unimplemented zones or stuff that’s not working right.
2011/01/08 01:55 GMT-4 EDIT: Can’t believe I forgot the instances for the acts 13/16 Spirit Worlds (boss fights with Uriel and Surt).
2011/02/22 14:43 GMT-4 EDIT: Aeria changed their IP again. Changes applied to table to reflect this.
